Deputy PM Demands Speedier Pace of Key Oil, Gas Projects
Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has recently guided application of some mechanisms to speed up implementation pace of key oil and gas projects, the government of Vietnam said on its website.
Hai requested state-owned oil monopoly PetroVietnam group to file a list of important and urgent oil and gas projects as well as to mention their schedules and difficulties in implementation.
PetroVietnam was asked to make some essential proposals to speed up pace of those projects.
The government official assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to coordinate with relevant agencies to appraise PetroVietnam’s project list and proposals, and then send to Prime Minister for approval.
This year, PetroVietnam targets to tap 24 million tons of oil equivalents from 16 million tons of crude oil and condensate, and 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas; export 11.68 million tons of crude oil and condensate; and produce 7.5 billion cubic meters of dry natural gas, 740,000 tons of urea and 10 billion kWh of power.
The group aims to attain revenues of VND261.11 trillion (US$15.82 billion) and contribute VND79.58 trillion (US$4.82 billion) to the state budget in 2009. (chinhphu.vn)
