Vietnam: Shirt Export Turnover Reaches US$47.3 Mln in Jan, Down 13.6 per cent On-Yr
Vietnam pocketed US$47.3 million from exports of 8 million shirts in January, down 13.6 per cent in value and 28.7 per cent in volume, according to the General Statistics Office.
However, it represented an increase of 39.1 per cent in volume and 67.2 per cent in value as compared to the figures of February last year.
Vietnam exported 4.3 million shirts valued at US$22.3 million to the U.S. market, down 31.3 per cent and 17.2 per cent on year while the shipment of commodity to the EU market saw a slight drop of 0.6 per cent on-year to US$14.5 million.
Among European markets, the shirt export turnover to Spain was down 10.4 per cent on-year, to France (-16.3 per cent) and Holland (-3.1 per cent) while increasing in the U.K., Danish and Austrian markets, 72 per cent, 114.6 per cent and 473 per cent on-year, respectively.
In the month, Vietnam also shipped 833 shirts totally valued at US$6 million to Japan, down 15.1 per cent in volume and 6.3 per cent in value. (VNA)
