DongA Bank Honored For Excellent Int'l Payment
The unlisted DongA Commercial Joint Stock Bank (DongA Bank) has been recognized by Standard Chartered Bank for its excellent international payment service.
This is the third consecutive year DongA Bank has received the Straight-Through Processing (STP) award.
Last year, the HCM City-based bank gained revenues of US$2.3 billion from international payment activities. The figure is reported at US$659 million in the first two months of 2009, a year-on-year rise of 138.8 per cent.
This year, Dong A Bank plans to scale up its registered capital by 18.1 per cent to VND3.4 trillion (US$200.4 million) by issuing 52 million shares to its existing shareholders at 100-to-18 ratio before the end of June.
It targets to earn profit of VND750 billion this year, up 7.1 per cent on year, and expects to raise total assets of VND40 trillion from VND34.5 trillion by the end of 2008. (Investment)
