Vietnam’s PE Bags Face Dumping Suit in U.S.

The U.S.’s two companies, Poly Co. LLC and Superbag Corporation, have just launched an anti-dumping suit over plastic shopping bags imported from Vietnam, Indonesia and Taiwan.
 
The King & Spalding LLP law firm has represented the complainants to file petitions to the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. International Trade Commission on Mar 31.
 
In addition, Vietnam’s products are also face an anti-subsidy lawsuit for the first time at the U.S. market.
 
Because the U.S. still considers Vietnam as a non-market economy, the DOC may apply dumping tariff raining from 30.7 per cent-75.1 per cent imposed to India for Vietnam.
 
According to the DOC’s statistics, the U.S. imported around US$79 million worth of plastic shopping bags from Vietnam in 2008. (Vietnam & World Economy)
