APHIS Allows One More Vietnamese Packing Plant to Export Fruit
The U.S. Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) and the Plant Protection Department April 7 granted a certificate to the Lo Ren Vinh Kiem star apple cooperative’s packing plant to export fruit to the U.S..
Accordingly, the plant is allowed to pack Vietnamese fruits to export to the U.S.
Le Van Son, deputy head of the cooperative said this is the sixth fruit packing plant in Vietnam, and the first in Mekong Delta region to meet Good Agriculture Practices standard.
Currently, only Vietnamese blue-dragon fruit is eligible to enter the U.S. market. Vietnam expected to ship its longan, litchi and rambutan to this market late this year. (Youth, Vietnam Economic Times)
