More Opportunities for Vietnam Apparel Exports to Japan

Japanese authorities have just announced the northeast Asian country is seeking other Asian garment suppliers besides China due to rising prices, according to the communist party’s website on Apr 13. 
 
The announcement will buoy up Vietnamese apparel exporters who are now thirsty for new orders to remain the production and employment amid the economic downturn.  
 
Jeans, T-shirts, sportswear and office clothes are favored products at the Japanese market.
 
Vietnam’s apparel export value to Japan has surged recently against diminished exportation to the U.S. and the European Union.
 
Vietnam’s apparel industry earned US$138 million from shipping products to Japan in the first two months of this year, up 27 per cent on year, according to Vietnam Trade Office in Japan.  

Towel, T-shirt, shirt and underwear exports to Japan increased by 128 per cent, 102 per cent, 35 per cent and 26 per cent respectively in the two-month period. (HCM City Police, CVP)
