Vietnam’s first oil refinery, Dung Quat, pumped out its first 7,500 cubic meters of diesel oil (DO) on July 8 to serve the domestic market.

An oil tanker, called PVT Dragon, of the state-run oil monopoly PetroVietnam group’s shipping arm, PV Trans, transported the DO from the refinery’s seaport to the Dinh Vu port in the northern city of Haiphong to distribute the product in the surrounding provinces.

In the coming days, the US$3.1-billion refinery will pump out its first batch of A92 gasoline to serve the local market.

To date, the refinery has pumped out around 19,300 cubic meters of petroleum products including kerosene, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and DO. (Youth)
