US$60M Inland Clearance Port Starts Operation in Southern Province
Saigon Newport Company put into operation an inland clearance depot on August 6 with a total investment of US$60 million in the southern province of Dong Nai.
The Tan Cang-Long Binh Depot covers 80 hectares and includes three areas for containers, storage and offices and services. It is capable of handling goods of over 500,000 TEU annually.
HCM City-based Saigon Newport Company is now the biggest container port operator in Vietnam.
The firm operates Tan Cang Port, Tan Cang-Cat Lai Port, Tan Cang-Song Than ICD, Tan Cang ICD 128 and Tan Cang-Cai Mep container port.
It is now joining hands with more than 50 major shipbuilders in the world, including Maersk Lines, MSC, CMA-CGM, EverGreen, China Shipping, APL, Hanjin Shipping, Mitsui O.S.K Lines and Wan Hai Lines. (Vietnam Economic Times)
