The Vietnamese prime minister has signed a decision to prioritize state budget capital for infrastructure development of coastal economic zones (EZs) from January 1 next year.

The government gives priorities to the coastal EZs with key projects totaling at least VND20 trillion (US$1.12 billion). It will also pour more investments to develop infrastructure at the coastal EZs in remote and disadvantaged areas.

State budget capital will also be injected to assist major transport projects, site clearance, construction of houses for workers and waste treatment systems in the EZs.

Vietnam aims to develop 15 coastal EZs by 2020, including 10 in the central region, two in the north and the rest in the south. (VoV)
