Vietnam National Assembly Approves VND22T to Raise Minimum Salary in 2010
Vietnam’s National Assembly, the country’s top lawmaking body, approved on November 13 spending VND22 trillion (US$1.23 billion) to raise monthly minimum salary for workers at state-owned companies to VND730,000 ($40.9) from May 1st, 2010 from the current VND650,000.
Pensions and special allowances for former soldiers will also be hiked.
Vietnam has raised minimum monthly salary for workers three times since 2006. (vnexpress.net)
