Gia Bao Green Bean Cake Company is a renowned brand in Hai Duong province. Its owner has built up a sizeable brand from his two bare hands. Mr Nguyen Dinh Giang, Director of Gia Bao Green Bean Cake Company has a talk with the press.
Would you mind sharing your secret of winning the outstanding businessperson title for many consecutive years in Hai Duong province?
I was born in a very poor family and I soon had to live on my own; thus, I understood the real value of labour, of money and of the thought of the business manager in a wider aspect. I was wounded at war and returned home without a penny in my pocket. Life was then extremely hard. I started to learn to make green bean cakes. Initially, my production unit was very small. Then I felt more confident. The brand name, Gia Bao, was born from that reason. Today property comes from my labour and effort to live through hardships.
For me, the success of a businessman is not only the size of wealth he makes but most importantly the heart he puts into his job and society. His success is not only reflected in materialistic aspects but also in his corporate social responsibility. I am an experienced person; so I think I should have more responsibility to the community. My happiness is the joy of people who rise up from poverty and who are always optimistic about life. Life lets us know how we are useful to society. That is also the watchword for Gia Bao.
Is that why Gia Bao is not only famous for its great product brand but also popular name in charitable activities?
Joining the hands to share the common pains in society is what we should do. Most of our nearly 200 workers are disabled, dumb and deaf. Our company provides them with shelters and training and pays them salary. Gia Bao always creates favourable conditions for poor people to work. Most importantly, they are treated fairly.
If we lost family members in the war, we would understand the feeling of loss and sacrifice. Thus, when I saw our next generations suffering the aftermaths of wars, I felt my contribution was too modest. I will do my best to make continued contributions to my hometown. And, we also need to join hands with the community to share difficulties. In my opinion, the best way to help unfortunate people is to give them jobs. Honestly speaking, our work is modest but, most importantly, it comes from the depth of my heart.
Gia Bao brand is now very popular even in foreign markets. Could you tell your secrets and your objectives in the coming time?
The company’s success is crystallised by labour and effort of all workers. No matter which market we serve all products must have beautiful design and label, high quality and reasonable price. For years, we have always followed that principle and I am proud that Gia Bao products always win consumers’ trust.
Customer satisfaction is our pride. And it is also a driving force for Gia Bao to expand research activities on new products such as black bean cake and instant soybean powder. The line-up of instant soybean powder is a rich, nutrient food and is only made by Gia Bao in Vietnam. The company has registered the patent protection with the Office of Intellectual Property under the Department of Science and Technology. To ensure product quality, the company has always improved its product quality and has been certified the ISO 9001:2000 quality management standard.
In the coming time, Gia Bao will do research on many new products, which are seen as the target and driving force for Gia Bao to continue expanding its operations. For Gia Bao, the objective is to pursue the self-perfection of each individual in the company.
