Attracting Investments by Comparative Edge

 

In preparation for the new influx of investments, Bac Lieu has planned and developed five industrial zones: Tra Kha (63.87 ha including: Tra Kha (63.87 ha including 45.18 ha of industrial land), Lang Tram (96.54 ha), Ninh Quoi (200 ha), Ganh Hao (90 ha), Seaport Logistics (over 1,000 ha). It will serve as a complete technical infrastructure and service for investors.

 

Among those IZs, Tra Kha is the most feasible in the Mekong Delta, the driving force of socio-economic development of the province. The IZ is aimed at attracting local and foreign investments for industrial development, creating jobs, receiving new technology, economic restructuring of industrialization and modernization. Besides, Tra Kha IZ will also play the role in the development of industrial zones and centres elevating Bac Lieu economy to a new height.

 

Mr Huynh Tiet Thao, Head of Bac Lieu IZ Management Board said that the development of IZs will be the best opportunity for Bac Lieu to develop the infrastructure and attract local and foreign investors to develop industry, increase economic growth and living conditions of the people.

 

The government has permitted Bac Lieu IZs to apply attractive preferential treatment. With an existing comparative edge, Bac Lieu IZs will attract more investments in such industries as garment, footwear, food processing, consumers’ goods, environment friendly chemistry, mechanics, electricity, electronics, telecom, agriculture-forestry-fisheries processing and other clean industries. Investment in IZ infrastructure is the highest priority.

 

Currently, besides land clearance, technical infrastructure development, communication and transport network, the province is improving business and investment environment and human resources development to meet the demand of the business community. Furthermore, Bac Lieu has accelerated administrative reform with transparent mechanism for all investment formalities in the IZs of the province.
