ADB to Boost Lending to Vietnam Infrastructure Projs: President

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has pledged to provide more loans for projects in Vietnam, especially for infrastructure projects, the President Haruhiko Kuroda said.
 
Kuroda made the commitment at a meeting with Governor Nguyen Van Giau of the State Bank of Vietnam on the sidelines of the 43rd ADB Annual Meeting in Tashkent of Uzbekistan.
 
Founded in 1996, ADB is an international development financial institution whose mission is to help developing member countries reduce poverty and improve the quality of life for their peoples.
 
ADB has pledged to fund US$1.5 billion in loans to 16 projects and programs in Vietnam this year, compared to US$1.9 billion the bank gave to 10 projects and programs last year. (Labor)
