DHL-VNPT to Open Airside Facility

The world’s leading express shipping company DHL just announced the opening of the state-of-the art HCMC gateway valued at US$5 million. Located at the new Tan Son Nhat Cargo Express Service airside facility, with an area of 2200 m²,the gateway is fully equipped with infrastructure meeting DHL’s Global Standard Operating Procedure. It includes a state-of-the-art security system and facilities for temperature-controlled shipments, motorized conveyor system and modern x-ray screening systems.

 

The gate promises to allow faster clearance with at least a half day improvement in transit times for inbound packages, and to support the international export businesses of Vietnam's southern provinces.

“This represents the culmination of a US$14 million investment program committed by DHL-VNPT in 2007. No other express company has made the kind of commitment to Vietnam that we have in the past three years. This new airside facility will once again help us consolidate and expand our leadership in Vietnam,” said Mr Tim Baxter, Director of DHL – VNPT Express.
