Chevron Joins Hand to Boost Education

On June 18, Chevron Vietnam Ltd. (US), Mitsui Oil Exploration Company Ltd. (MOECO) (Japan), and PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) (Thailand),  announced they will partner with the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) to upgrade school facilities and provide scholarships to underprivileged children in the Mekong Delta.
 
The three energy companies will support the NFVC’s education program by upgrading five schools and providing more than 750 scholarships to children in Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang, and Hau Giang Provinces, and in Can Tho City. The total value of the program is over VND2.3 billion (US$125,000).
 
Speaking at the event, Hank Tomlinson, General Director of Chevron Vietnam said, “Our goal for this sponsorship is to contribute to brighter futures for children in the Mekong Delta by increasing their access to education.”
Chevron, MOECO and PTTEP are partners in the Block B Gas Project, which will provide a reliable domestic gas supply to utility companies in the Mekong Delta.
