After 20 years of construction and development, Power Construction Installation Co., Ltd 4 (PCC4) has gradually lived through numerous difficulties and challenges to assert its name on the market and win the absolute trust of investors to build projects of national and international scales. With the watchword of competing by quality, progress and price, PCC4 has made its name shine on all projects it gets involved.
Mr Nguyen Huu Son, Director of PCC4, said: “In the context that the country is getting more integrated into the world economy, apart from advantages, the company also encounters many difficulties and challenges like shrinking market due to the presence of more rival companies, fluctuant input material prices, insufficient workers qualified for electric work installation and construction. What makes Mr Son concerns is the slow payment settlement for invested projects in the country. Many projects have been test-run but payment has not been finalised. Meanwhile, the company has to pay interests to banks. On the other hand, contractors of power construction projects require powerful financial capacity and skilful labour force.
Before such difficulties, PCC4’s leaders determined: To assert its position and continue to shine, the company must closely combine the project quality with the progress and safety of production and construction, apply the ISO 9001 - 2000 quality management system, and expand investment markets. To achieve its targets, apart from utilising its experience and expertise, the company has tuned up its basic orientations, restructured personnel, and strengthened operating apparatuses to enhance professionalism and mobility. In addition to continuous personnel investment, PCC4 also has a modern construction equipment system.
Mr Nguyen Quang Dang, Chairman of PCC4 Trade Union, said: To attract and keep talents to work for the company in harsh conditions like high mountains, dangerous slopes, wetlands and deep stream, PCC4 always puts a premium on building the corporate culture. At PCC4, all people are encouraged to their share views, seek information, provide data and solve troubles. For PCC4, responsibility is considered the standard of success on the basis of reasonable satisfaction of rights and interests of partners and employees.
With the above efforts, PCC4 has completed and operated hundreds of electric works, including the 500 KV North-South power line, many 500 KV power lines in southern Mekong Delta region, the 500KV Ialy, Nho Quan and Son La transformer stations, thousands of kilometres of 35-220 KV lines, nearly 50 110 - 220 kV transformer stations, many hydroelectric plants, thermal power plants, civil and industrial electrical works, and thousands of lower-voltage transformers. These achievements also come from contributions of the society. Hence, PCC4 has actively participated in social activities, donated VND266 million reliefs to victims of natural disasters, funded nearly VND140 million to poverty funds, spent VND321 million to buy revenue bonds issued by Hanoi City.
With its achievements, PCC4 has been presented many noble prizes and awards from the Party and State like the Second-class and Third-class Independence Medals; dozens of First, Second and Third-class Labour Medals; many certificates of merits and awards from the Government, ministries and localities. Speaking of these successes, Mr Nguyen Huu Son said: "These are the pride but also out heavy pressure. First of all, the management must be resourceful and active to seek out business solutions to bring more jobs for the company, and ensure incomes for workers. Particularly, PCC4 also eyes more investments in foreign markets. Currently, the company is carrying out several electric projects in Laos, Cambodia and other nations. “We expect to expand to African markets,” he said. From its potentials and is successes, PCC4 will continue developing more key projects in the country.
