Vietnam PM Adopts Danish-funded Business Support Project
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has ratified the Danish Business Sector Program Support (BSPS) for the period of 2011-2013 with the total non-refundable aid of DKK123 million ($21.8 million).
BSPS will be divided into three parts focusing on the Global Competitiveness Facility (GCF) for creative development and application of new technologies in medium and small-sized enterprises, labor safety, and economic researches.
The first component will cover eight localities with a VND216-billion aid. The rest of the funding will be poured into the two others which are implemented nationwide.
Beneficiaries are enterprises and private ones which provide services for small enterprises to produce exports. SPS will prioritize areas such as agriculture, agro-products processing, fishing, aquaculture, handicraft, and tourism.
The Danish government has pledged $1 billion in official development assistance (ODA) for Vietnam so far. (VNS, chinhphu.vn)
