Vietnam Discusses Statistics Development Strategy till 2020
The General Statistics Office and the Ministry of Planning and Investment held a seminar on building Vietnam’s statistics development strategy for the 2010-2020 period in the northern province of Bac Ninh on December 20.
One of the important tasks in building the strategy is to identify the position of Vietnamese statistics on the regional and international map, foreign and domestic experts said.
The development strategy will provide a framework and a practical action plan for building statistical ability to meet the rising demand for in the country, they added.
Vietnam ranks the 77th out of 145 low and medium income countries in the World Bank’s recent survey on statistical ability.
The country’s statistic index fell 10 points in 2010 to 61 in comparison to that of 2004.(VoV)
