Vietnam-Japan Trade Valued at $14.99B in Jan-Nov: Ministry

Trade between Vietnam and Japan stood at $14.99 billion in the first eleven months of 2010, including the former’s trade gap of $1.17 billion.
 
Vietnam exported $6.91 billion worth of goods to Japan during the period, up 23.62% on-year and imported $8.08 billion, up 21.71%, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
 
Meanwhile, its export staples were apparel worth $1.03 billion, up 21.13% on-year, electric wire and cables worth $829.75 million, up 49.25% and machinery, equipment and spare parts worth $813.4 million, up 51.16%.
 
The Southeast Asian nation’s main imports were machinery, equipment and spare parts worth $2.28 billion, up 12.3% on-year, steel and iron worth $1.1 billion, up 50.15% and computers, electronics and spare parts worth $930.92 million, up 24.67%.
 
The two-way trade fell 15.63% to $13.5 billion in 2009, including Vietnam’s trade deficit of $1.1 billion. (Vinanet)
