Sanyo First Launch of Digital Cameras
Sanyo Corporation of Japan has recently launched four models of projectors, (the SL20, XL20, SC10, and XC10), the VPC-C1 digital camcorder and the VPC-J4 digital camera, manufactured in 2004, in the Vietnamese market.
Kiyoshi Isobe, chairman of Sanyo, said that this was the first time the Japanese corporation had manufactured digital cameras. Sanyo is expected to sell 20 million cameras this year, accounting for 40 per cent of the world market. In the Vietnamese market, the corporation is expected to sell 50,000 cameras, equal to 20 per cent of the market and 4,000 projectors, equal to 30 per cent of the market. As well as boosting promotional activities Sanyo will, in the future, build a factory in Vietnam.
The Sao Nam Company, a distributor of Sanyo products, has already launched a promotion campaign from June 11 to July 11, 2004. Accordingly, all customers who buy any of the four projectors will be presented with a digital camera VPC-S1 (3.2 Megapixel), or a five per cent discount for other models.
