Strategic Marine (Australia) has just won a contract to supply a 27 metre work barge to service the energy and resources sector in Western Australia’s north-west. This vessel will be built at Strategic Marine’s largest shipyard in Vung Tau, Vietnam for Karratha business Offshore Plant Hire.

It will be based in the Port of Dampier and be chartered to marine operations company Bhagwan Marine, servicing the areas around Dampier, Onslow and Barrow Island. It will be used primarily for port upgrades, construction support, mooring maintenance and shallow water dive operations.

Chief Marketing Officer Terry O’Connor said that the new contract highlighted the shipbuilder’s growing reputation for providing quality vessels at competitive prices, backed-up with through-life maintenance support.
