Electronic Customs for Ship Entry, Exit

On March 23, 2011, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung signed a decision to formalise electronic customs clearance for ship entry and exit.

 

The new rule will be applied to all Vietnamese and foreign ships, shipping firms, ship agents, logistics and forwarding companies, customs offices and port authorities.

The enforcement will last through 2011 and 2012. Electronic customs clearance will first be applied to ports in Hai Phong, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in the 2011 - 2012 period. The application of the new rule will then be expanded to other seaports in Quang Ninh, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa and Can Tho.

 

Customs authorities will receive and settle electronic customs procedures.
