HCMC to Host 7th Tourism Festival

The 7th annual Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Day Festival 2011 will be hosted in the largest commercial hub of Vietnam from April 7-10 by the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the city’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
 
This will be an opportunity for tourism enterprises to introduce their products and services to citizens in particular and tourists far and wide. More than 80 travel companies, hotels, resorts and transport firms from 24 provinces and cities have registered to join the event.
 
Main events include a tourism fair aimed at presenting new tourism products and services to promote local tourism, the singing competition, and a photo exhibition. The highlight of the festival is the ceremony in honour of Vietnamese tourism brands voted by consumers.
 
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the organisation of the event costs about VND3 billion, of which VND1 billion is spent on tourism investment promotion.
