Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung suggested that Vietnam and Australia should continue prioritizing economic cooperation and boosting trade and investment promotion activities.

The PM said this when received Australian Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd on April 13 in Hanoi.

The bilateral ties have been flourishing especially after the two sides lifted their relationship to comprehensive partnership.

PM Dung applauded the talk between two countries’ FMs earlier on the same day and expressed his belief that the outcomes would help strengthen the all-around cooperative ties between the two sides.

“There are wide doors for better bilateral linkages on economics, trade and investment”, noted Mr Dung.

He urged the two countries to develop more specific mechanisms to beef up cooperation in other fields like education and training, science and technology, and culture.
Australian FM Kevin Rudd reported to PM Dung about the two FMs agreements, particularly on continued dialogue mechanism, reciprocal visits at all levels, response to natural disasters, and emergency relief.

He also affirmed that Australia always attaches importance to joining hands with Vietnam to fully exploit the bilateral potentials and hoped to seek Vietnam’s support for Australian investors in doing business in the country.
