Ngo Quyen Construction Co.: A Reliable Contractor

The Ngo Quyen Construction Company, a State-owned enterprise, first class, at 149 Hai Ba Trung, Le Chan district, Haiphong, which was set up in 1982, has become a prestigious contractor, involved in many civil and engineering works in Haiphong and other localities nearby. These works include a five-storey dormitory at the Vietnam University of Maritime, the office of the Hong Bang district taxation bureau, the Bach Dang Training and Practising Centre at the Navy Technique Institute.

Alongside the development of Haiphong city, the Ngo Quyen Construction Company has seen a rapid development. Total revenues of the company in 2003 were put at VND100 billion (US$6.369 million). With its experienced and skilled staff members and engineers, the company has successfully completed many road and irrigation works, including the Road 403 in Kien Thuy district, Road 353 linking Haiphong and Do Son and the cutwater for the Do Son fishing port. It also dredged the Quan Ngua Lake and the Do Son fishing port. At the same time, the company has constructed many residential areas, contributing to the beauty of Haiphong city. The company carries out projects on villas at 150 To Hieu, 280 Hai Ba Trung and Vinh Niem Commune, An Hai district, Haiphong city.

Moreover, the company has established a foothold in the concrete market in Haiphong and other major cities, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa. It has implemented projects in cooperation with foreign partners. These include the Thuy Nguyen Caltex asphalt plant, the An Duong 2 Bridge, the Lach Tray flyover, the Nomura industrial park, Haiphong Port and the Trang An paper mill. Thanks to its concrete producing plant, whose capacity reaches 55 cubic metres per hour, its seven vehicles which can transport between six and ten cubic metres, its two concrete distributing vehicles with a capacity of 90 cubic metres per hour, reaching a height of 100 metres and a length of 500 metres, and its KABAG complete production line (a world leader in construction material producing equipment of Germany), the company can meet its demand for high quality concrete.

To expand its business and production activities, the company has implemented projects to import and export construction glass, equipment and machines, whilst being involved in construction materials and transportation services. The company has 15 100-300 tonne ships for construction material transportation and four cranes for exploiting materials, dredging river beds and building docks.

Thanks to its great efforts, the company is considered a reliable and promising partner. The company has been voted as one of the outstanding enterprises in Haiphong for three years in a row (2001 to 2003). It has been presented with the Labour Order, third class, for its great achievements during five years of renovation, from 1998 to 2003. In the coming years, the company will continue to expand its cooperative ties with domestic and foreign contractors and will invest in a fixed concrete pile drilling system to improve the quality of foundations for construction works.
