Encouraging and Promoting Business
Pham Khac Phuc, Director of the Phuc Tang Company, is one of the six entrepreneurs who has been selected as the winner of the 'For Community Development' Gold Cup. VIB Forum interviewed him on the occasion.
This is the first time the voting of enterprises and entrepreneurs for the 'For Community Development' Gold Cup has been organised. What do you think about the event's importance in promoting contributions by enterprises and entrepreneurs to the community?
Over the past years, Vietnamese entrepreneurs and enterprises have made great contributions to the community in both intellectual and material ways. However, their contributions had yet to be honoured in an official and timely manner. Therefore, the voting and presentation of the 'For Community Development' Gold Cup is a great step forward. It recognises achievements recorded by enterprises and entrepreneurs over the past years and their contributions to the society. The award also encourages enterprises and entrepreneurs to increase the quality of their products and services, thus expanding trade and production activities with an aim at promoting export to international markets.
What do you think about contributions made by Vietnamese enterprises and entrepreneurs to the community? What contributions have you made?
Enterprises and entrepreneurs have made a range of contributions, but they all have the same aim of helping Vietnam become more prosperous. Some enterprises have boosted investment in their production establishments, helping create more jobs for people, while earning profits and contributing to the State budget. Many entrepreneurs have used their talent to develop their enterprises, sealing their position in international markets.
For my part, I have tried my best to contribute to community development through production, business, social and charity activities. During my business trips to foreign countries, I have always tried to promote goods, trademarks and the people of Vietnam to international friends.
What does the award mean to you and especially to the development of the Phuc Tang Company in the future?
It is a great pride and honour for me to be presented with the award. It is, of course, of great significance to me, encouraging me to contribute further and consolidate my belief in the bright future of the community. The award is recognition of the efforts made by me and all the cadres and staff members of the Phuc Tang Company. The award will spur our company on to further develop, meeting all demands of the domestic and foreign markets.
How do you plan to maintain and develop your success and contributions?
We have many plans, but more importantly we need to implement them sooner rather than later. In the short term, I have set some targets, including an expansion of our workshops with further investment in industrial wood production lines, and further promotion of Vietnam's products to markets, both domestic and foreign ones. We also need to continue to increase the quality and range of designs for our products, so that they will establish a firm foothold in the domestic market and reduce the number of imported goods. At the same time, we will continue to develop trade ties with foreign partners to promote export and increase export revenues in foreign currencies for Haiphong city. We will promote the organisation of many cultural, social and charity activities to help those with in need, and contribute to preventing diseases and poverty for further development in the Vietnamese community.
