Vietnam Month in France to Open in May
Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem has agreed on the organisation of the “Vietnam Month in France 2011” proposed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The ministry will closely work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant bodies to host the “Vietnam Month in France 2011” in Tours, Lorient - France in May.
In 2011, Vietnam will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Uncle Ho in search of ways to save the country (1911-2011), the 65th anniversary of Uncle Ho’s official visit to France (1946-2011). The event will highlight three main topics: Land and people of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh in France, and Vietnam - France multifaceted cooperation potential.
Main activities will include seminars and roundtable talks on history, culture and especially tourism potentials of Vietnam, photo exhibitions, thematic exhibitions, arts programmes, literature exchanges, Vietnamese film shows, and others.
The “Vietnam Month in France 2011” aims to introduce a deep, comprehensive and multidimensional picture of Vietnamese country and people to French people; and facilitate cooperation in various fields between the two nations.
