Gov’t to Prioritise Infrastructure Development for Poorest Districts
PM Nguyen Tan Dung on April 25 signed Decision No. 615/QĐ-TTg, under which the Government will extend assistance to infrastructure development in the 7 poorest districts (having the highest ratio of poor households).
The seven districts are Vo Nhai (Thai Nguyen Province); Vu Quang and Huong Khe (Ha Tinh Province); Bac Tra My (Quang Nam Province); Dak Glong (Dak Nong Province); Tan Phu Dong (Tien Giang Province); Tra Cu (Tra Vinh Province).
At district level, the Government will assist the building of secondary schools; boarding schools, including hostels; vocational training establishments; irrigation works; district-to-commune roads, according to the Decision.
For communal level, assistance will be given to building schools, including nursery gardens, medical stations, villages connecting roads, centralized water works, and providing electricity for production and daily life of people in the areas.
The Decision will be carried out in 2011-2015 period.
