VND55 Billion for First-phase National Trade Promotion
On April 21, 2011, Industry and Trade Minister Vu Huy Hoang signed the Decision No. 1931/QD-BCT to approve the budget of VND55 billion for the first phase of National Trade Promotion Programme in 2011, which consists of 50 projects from 22 trade promotion agencies and 16 localities.
This year’s trade promotion programme will be targeted toward the domestic and foreign markets, as well as mountain, border and island areas.
As regards export-driven trade promotion, the programme focuses on highly effective measures like trade information, export supporting, exhibition, market survey and personnel training for the programme.
In 2010, the programme generated very good results: boosting export, expanding domestic market, bolstering production and business capacity of the business community, and opening up opportunities for companies of all economic sectors. According to statistics, in 2010, the National Trade Promotion Programme helped over 5,000 enterprises and signed over 3,000 business cooperation contracts and agreements with the value of US$1.152 billion.
