Fruit, Vegetable Exports up 44.1%

Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable export turnover in the first four months of the year earned US$213 million, up 44.1% against the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
 
The figure is estimated to reach over US$500 million by the end of 2011.
 
The country’s fruit and vegetable exports to the US, Japan, the Republic of Korea (RoK) and New Zealand are progressing well. Vietnamese rambutans are now allowed to be exported to the US while dragon fruit is licensed to be exported to Japan and the RoK. Fresh mangoes are also being exported to New Zealand.
