HCMC Natural Resources and Environment University Set Up

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung recently okayed the plan on establishing a Natural Resources and Environment University in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC).
 
The University is upgraded from the HCMC College for Natural Resources and Environment under the administration of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
 
The HCMC College for Natural Resources and Environment was founded in 2006. It provides courses in meteorology, hydrography, water resources, environment, land survey, land management, among others.
 
The college has three professors, four associate professors, 14 doctors, six postgraduates, 47 MAs. Its total enrolment is 6,000.
 
Vietnam is one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change. The establishment of the university is part of the Government’s effort to better cope with the global threat.
