Riding the wave
BAGARCO has continuously invested in new equipment, technologies and human resources to enhance the quality of products and services. Beginning as a garment producer with very poor conditions, BAGARCO now specialises in producing and trading apparel for domestic consumption and for export, trading garment equipment and materials, and training tailors. Starting from a bamboo-made enterprise with 400 workers, the company has grown to be a leading member of the State-owned Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) with 10 production enterprises which bring in export turnover of nearly US$100 million a year, generate more than 9,000 jobs, turn out over 4.5 million high-quality products for the United States, South Korea, Japan, and the EU. With outstanding growth, the company has asserted its firm position in the Vietnamese garment and textile industry. Its annual export value is approximately US$50 million and revenues reach hundreds of billions of Vietnamese dong. The development of the company also means better lives for many workers in the province.
With its excellent performance, the company was honoured with the Second Grade Labour Order by the State President in 2011 and General Director Nguyen Huu Phai was bestowed the “Labour Hero in Renovation Period” title.

Conquering US market
Mr Nguyen Huu Phai said: "The United States is a very large and potential market and many Vietnamese companies want to enter, not only apparel companies and BAGARCO in particular. Nevertheless, to penetrate this market we must comply with strict regulations and get evaluations from third countries. This generates pressures and difficulties against Vietnamese companies. For that reason, I expect the Government to step up the process of signing free trade agreement so Vietnamese goods will be levied lower tariffs in the US. It should organise business dialogues to help companies of both the sides enhance mutual understanding and avoid risks. I hope Vietnam will request APEC member economies to recognise Vietnam as a full market economy, not only inside APEC but also in the world, at the next APEC meeting.”

Garment outsourcing, production and trading require high-quality, dedicated human resources. For this reason, BAGARCO always puts a premium on human resource development and considers it a key to boost long-term development and efficiency. The current success of BAGARCO springs from the proper utilisation of worker expertise and capacity.

In the coming time, the company will open two factories in Luc Nam Garment Enterprise in Doi Ngo Town, Luc Nam District. These faculties, which will create jobs for about 2,000 workers, are designed to produce high-quality products to meet demanding markets like the US, the EU and Japan,
