DHL Express Opens Facility at Noi Bai Airport

DHL Express recently announced the opening of its newly-built, fully-equipped US$1.4 million facility at Noi Bai International Airport, the second of its kind invested by the global international express services provider in Vietnam. The 1,450 square metre Hanoi Gateway can process 4,700 inbound and outbound shipments daily. The new airside facility services 27 outbound and 20 inbound international commercial flights weekly.

 

Tim Baxter, general director of DHL-VNPT Express said: “For DHL, the Vietnamese market has immense potential. The new facility further solidifies our leadership position in Vietnam and sets the stage for growth in the years to come.”

 

DHL Express said the new facility also doubled up as a service centre supporting the Vinh Phuc, Soc Son and Thang Long Industrial Zone area.

 

The Hanoi Gateway, which is equipped with a fully automated material handling and motorized conveyor system, will minimize handling time and shipment movement, thus preventing damages while boosting overall efficiency.

 

The investment of the new gateway facilities in Hanoi follows the recent opening of DHL Express’ new Long An Depot. In April last year, DHL-VNPT Express opened a US$5-million gateway facility at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
