Review of The Beyond WTO Programme

The Beyond WTO Programme (B-WTO Programme) - a post-WTO accession technical assistance programme - organised a review workshop on working plan of the programme in the first year, second phase in Hanoi on December 6, 2011. The meeting reviewed and assessed the implementation and outcome of projects in the framework of the working plan of the B-WTO Programme; discussed practical experience gained from executed projects; and debated orientations for the next working plan of the B-WTO Programme.

The Beyond WTO Programme was developed in response to a request from the Government of Vietnam for donor support to help with managing economic integration and the transition to a market economy in the period after Vietnam’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

 

The second phase consists of the following components: Strengthening the institutions of the market economy; Addressing social and economic consequences of integration for the rural sector; Supporting capacity for management and coordination of integration; and Supporting implementation of provincial action plan activities.
