Two Big Events to Celebrate RMIT Vietnam’s 10th Anniversary

On the occasion of its 10th anniversary of establishment in Vietnam (2001-2011), RMIT International University Vietnam was recently honoured with a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training, Prof. Dr. Pham Vu Luan, in recognition of 10 years of outstanding achievement, was presented by Mrs Nguyen Thanh Huyen, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Education and Training to RMIT University’s Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Margaret Gardner.
 
“The staffs of RMIT Vietnam have worked very hard over the past 10 years to build excellent education and successful graduates, with strong support from the University as a whole. It is a great honour that these efforts have been recognised by the Minister. We were delighted and deeply honoured to be recognised in such a way”, said Professor Gardner.
 
“The certificate was an honour that would be shared by a team of more than 500 Vietnamese and foreign staff. It makes us more determined than ever to live up to the standards set to date, so that we can meet the challenges of the next 10 years just as effectively, added RMIT Vietnam’s President, Professor Merilyn Liddell.
 
At the same time, at Saigon South campus, RMIT International University celebrated grand opening ceremony its Beanland library and learning commons. It is bearing the name of Professor Beanland, the previous founder. The library consists of two floors with total of 1.423 square meters and equipped with 48.000 books, magazines, newspapers and CD, 22 computers, 2 printers, 1 photocopy, 1 reading room, 4 meeting rooms with 200 seats. It is worthy a library in the 21st century including Education - Space - Informatic technology.
