New Mineral Strategy Ratified

 PM Nguyen Tan Dung just ratified the Mineral Strategy until 2020, with a vision to 2030 in order to dig into Vietnam’s real mineral reserves.

 

Under the strategy, the Government will prioritize investment for national-scaled investigation of mineral resources; balance exploitation and reserves; develop mineral exploitation industry sustainably in combination with protection of environment and national defense and security.

 

Investigation activities will focus on coal, bauxite, rare earth and urani, lead and zinc among others.

 

The strategy aims to combine mineral exploitation with processing to create highly-valued products and establish centralized mineral processing parks.
