PM Calls for Stronger Administrative Reform Effort

PM Nguyen Tan Dung urged the Ministry of Home Affairs to accelerate the implementation of the Master Program on State administrative reform for the 2011 – 2020 period.
 
The Government chief made the request at the Ministry’s meeting on Saturday to review the sector’s operations last year and launch activities for 2012 in Hanoi on Saturday.
 
The Master Program was promulgated by the Government on November 8, 2011 in a bid to concretize the Party’s guideline for administrative reform. It is one of the three breakthroughs for realizing the socio-economic development strategy until 2020.
 
Under the Program, Vietnam will focus on improving the institution of socialist-oriented market economy in order to effectively mobilize resources for the national development.
 
The country sets to create a favorable and transparent business environment to shorten time and minimize cost by enterprises when they engage in administrative transactions.
 
Key areas for administrative reform will include institutional reform, administrative procedures reform, State administrative apparatus reform, improvement of the quality of State employees.
 
At the meeting, PM Dũng assigned the Ministry to closely coordinate with the Office of Government for continued implementation of the Project 30; develop a set of criteria for administrative procedures.
 
It also needs to give high priority to reviewing the implementation of the 1992 Constitution, quickly finalize the salary reform Project and submit it to the Government for consideration.
