The Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang has just signed decision 1057/QĐ-BCT, approving the first stage of the national trade promotion program 2012.
The program includes 46 projects of 38 units, with total of expenditure of 43.93 billion VND. These projects focus on export-oriented trade promotion activities in the domestic market and in mountainous, border and island regions.
The export-oriented trade promotion focuses on increasing effective trade promotion activities such as organizing and participating in fairs inside and outside the country, providing trade information, and training and improving the capacity of staff responsible for trade promotion.
Together with implementing the target of boosting exports and restricting the trade gap, the national trade promotion program 2012 will continue to give priority to domestic trade promotion activities, especially in rural, mountainous, and border regions and localities facing difficulty across the country.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), the first stage of the national trade promotion program 2012 is failing to meet the demands of trade promotion of localities, associations and businesses due to limited expenditure.
Therefore, the MOIT will request the government and relevant ministries and sectors to supplement expenditures for the national trade promotion program 2012 to successfully implement the target of strengthening export and developing domestic, mountainous, border and island regions.
