Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs co-sponsored a meeting between businesses and ambassadors designate to discuss on their cooperation and recommendations to promote business activities in related markets.
According to Mr Hoang Van Dung, VCCI Vice-President, deeper economic integration requires businesses to make greater efforts. In addition to competition with businesses in Vietnam and the region, they have to compete with businesses world-wide to join the world market. It is a difficult and strenuous demand.
“As it is difficult for the ambassadors to provide related information to businesses; this meeting offers the chance for the ambassadors and businesses to make acquaintance and understand the problems of businesses,” said Mr Dung.
Mr Nguyen Manh Hung, Ambassador to Laos, on behalf of the ambassadors, said that the meeting is most useful not only for businesses, but also ambassadors as representatives of Vietnam in foreign countries. The ambassadors will not only protect but also multiply the interests of Vietnamese businesses.”
According to Mr Hung, businesses should establish relations with the ambassadors and Consuls General in advance to avoid the cases of contacting them only when some accidents occur and they could only solve the problems instead of multiplying the interests of businesses from the beginning.
Mr Hung also reaffirmed that the ambassadors will coordinate with VCCI to increase trade and investment promotion activities as well as market surveys. “The task of the ambassadors is to provide information and promote image of Vietnam land and people including businesses. Therefore, VCCI and Vietnamese businesses should keep in touch with the ambassadors in this important task”. Mr Hung added.
Mr Bui Dinh Dinh, Secretary General of Association of Overseas Vietnamese Entrepreneurs, former Ambassador to Russia, said that Vietnamese diplomatic representatives have four important tasks: Development of political, economic-trade, culture-education relations and overseas Vietnamese. In present difficult conditions of world economy and trade, it is crucial that the ambassadors should develop deep and extensive relations with businesses at home and abroad to provide information, organize market surveys and assist them to develop strong partnership.
