VBCSD Completes Two Reports on "Vision 2050" Programme
The Vision 2050 Workgroup of the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) recently gathered to complete two reports, namely “Enhancing economic capacity for Vietnamese women” and “Green project”, to submit to Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan ahead of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, also known as Rio 2012 or Rio+20, hosted by Brazil.
This was the second meeting of the workgroup after two months of active drafting of reports on two important topics belonging to “Human value” and “Human development” fields. The meeting also discussed topics of upcoming reports, namely "Energy conservation and climate change" and "Agriculture".
Mr Nguyen Quang Vinh, Director of VCCI's Office of Sustainable Business Development and General Secretary of VBCSD, stressed: "The completion of the two reports concerning the Vision 2050 not only directly serves the Vietnamese senior government delegation and the Vietnamese business delegation attending the Rio+20 Conference but also lays a stepping stone for upcoming activities of the workgroup, helping specify objectives and work out roadmaps for Vietnamese businesses in the cause of national sustainable development.”
Vision 2050 is a new agenda for businesses to look to sustainable development initiated by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). In Vietnam, the concretisation of Vision 2050 was started by VBCSD with the translation and dissemination of Vision 2050 reports as well as related tools developed by WBCSD.
