The fifth Ho Chi Minh City Supporting Industries Exhibition will be organised to strengthen connectivity between Vietnamese businesses and Japanese partners with the aim of enhancing supply capacity of domestic companies. The Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) will coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC), and Reed Tradex exhibition organizer to select 50 Japanese companies and 50 Vietnamese suppliers to join this event.

The exhibition will be organised from October 4 to 6, 2012 at the District 7 Conference and Exhibition Centre, Ho Chi Minh City. All the cost of the exhibition will be paid by the national budget of the Japanese government through JETRO.

Mr Sakae Yoshida, JETRO Executive Manager in HCM City, said this is one of support activities aimed to enhance the low localisation ratio of 28.7 percent of Japanese businesses in Vietnam, much lower than the ratio of 59.7 in China, 53 percent in Thailand or 42 percent in Indonesia. This is an opportunity for businesses of the two countries to expand cooperation.
