“Manufacturing Expo” taking place on June 21-24 in Bangkok, Thailand, successfully ended with the showcase of thousands of amazing technologies and machinery from 30 countries to 42,862 manufacturers and industrialists (5% increase when compared to last year) of auto-parts and industrial parts, as well as industrialists from other sectors, from across ASEAN and other countries around the world, participated to adopt for preparation towards AEC.
The exhibition was very successful and the leaders of all associations were very impressed, according to Mr. Chainarong Limpkittisin, Managing Director, Reed Tradex Company, the event’s organizer. It was the first time that ASEAN Supporting Industries launched the Era of Closer Collaboration between the Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association (Thai Subcon), the Federation of Malaysian Foundry & Engineering industries Associations(FOMFEIA), the Association of Electronics Industries in Singapore (AEIS), Hanoi Trade Department, Trade Promotion Centre (HTPC) and Vietnam Electro-technical industry Association (VELINA) to establish a cooperative relationship between ASEAN supporting industries organizations.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Mai Anh, Director of Hanoi Trade Promotion Centre (HTPC) said that this is the first time ever that HTPC participates in Manufacturing Expo in Thailand and the event brought a great success. According to the Vietnamese strategic policy for industry as well as industrial development plan during the year 2011-2015, HTPC is focusing on developing the main industries and supporting industries products. “In order to assist supporting industries enterprises, we have a long plan to support Vietnamese manufacturers. After joining Manufacturing Expo 2012 in Bangkok, HTPC will join METALEX Vietnam 2012 in HCM City this October and in 2013 HTPC will continue to organize the ICS Vietnam 2013 with Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2013 in Hanoi. I do hope that this co organization will create a special opportunity for Vietnamese supporting industries producers to directly trade with the importers in order to raise the chance of trading and expanding export market.”
Mr. Ronnie Wong, President of Association of Electronic Industries (AEIS) in Singapore said that the ERA of Closer Collaboration was a good platform to support ASEAN Supporting Industries. The future of stronger AEC collaborative relationship begins. “This is no ordinary gathering but this is the first step towards becoming stronger and healthier supporting industries of the ASEAN region. To support electronics industry in Vietnam, this October AEIS will join NEPCON Vietnam 2012 in HCM City.”
“Vietnam Market is very significant for Singapore’s companies and we come to Vietnam for a long-term investment. This year, the Association of Electronic Industries in Singapore (AEIS) with the support of IE Singapore is coordinating and organizing a “Singapore Pavilion in NEPCON Vietnam 2012 with a wide range of products from big machines to small parts for Vietnam’s market.”
“There is a need for Innovating the Blue Chip for Vietnam’s Electronics Industry. I am confident NEPCON Vietnam 2012 will be the central platform for buyers and sellers. Manufacturers in Vietnam will benefit the most from NEPCON Vietnam to forge new business partnership with international companies and updates of new technologies and machinery for Electronics Manufacturers.”
Mr. Chainarong said that positive movements are happening in ASEAN’s automotive manufacturing industry. These movements indicate good heath of both the auto and supporting industries. And these movements are also happening in the neighboring countries such as Indonesia and Vietnam which are attracting more investment from giant car makers in order to possess the level of competitiveness that will yield success in the region, especially in the ASEAN Economic Community era.
Reed Tradex has realized that with the Government’s supports, Vietnam’s supporting industries serving the automotive industry, electronics industry, etc., are advancing to become stronger and stronger in response to the local manufacturing sectors’ needs for industrial parts; especially the demands from Japanese manufacturers, one of the biggest investors of the country.
