Vietnam, Cambodia Boost Comprehensive Cooperation in Transport

Vietnamese Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang and Cambodian Minister of Public Works and Transport Tram Iv Tek signed on July 9 an agreement on comprehensive transport cooperation.
 
Under the deal, Vietnam will cooperate with Cambodia in building and upgrading roads which form Asia’s transport network; strengthening the implementation of bilateral and multilateral transport agreements; building the railway network from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh City.
 
Vietnam will also help Cambodia establish a national carrier, train staffs for its air sector.
 
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister Thang proposed the two ministries should launch cooperative activities more effectively to mark the 45 anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year.
 
Minister Tram Iv Tek expected that Vietnamese side will assist Cambodia in developing transport and regarded it as a good chance for Vietnamese businesses to invest in infrastructure projects in Cambodia.
