Mayors of Tourism Cities to Meet in HCM City

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City has said that the governing Municipal People’s Committee allowed the opening of Tourism City Mayor Meeting in the framework of the International Travel Expo 2012 in HCM City (ITE-HCMC 2012)

 

The event brings together mayors of tourism cities, including Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Vientiane (Laos), Yangon (Myanmar), Kunming (China), Bangkok (Thailand), Jeju and Busan (South Korea) and HCM City. ITE-HCMC 2012 is set to take place from September 13 to 15, 2012 in Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC).

 

This fair highlights buyer quality. For international buyers, apart from traditional markets, the organisers have worked with some airlines and international partners to invite some 120 quality buyers interested in Vietnam in South Europe, South Africa, Turkey, Russia, China, North Europe, the United States, India and other nations. At the same time, local buyer programme (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar) is expected to attract about 100 buyers which are outbound travel companies from the four mentioned countries in the Greater Mekong Subregion.

 

This activity is to implement the Joint Declaration on Tourism Cooperation ratified by four Ministers of Tourism of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam at ITE-HCMC 2011. This is also an opportunity to introduce tourist destinations and interlink for better tourism products.
