Vietnam, Qatar Agree to Set up Training Center for Workers
A Labor Training Center (LTC) will be established in Vietnam to equip the workforce of the south Asian country for undertaking jobs in GCC countries, Qatar-based Gulf Times has reported.
An agreement has already been reached between Vietnam and Qatar to set up the training centre and the land for it has already been allocated, he said.
“The Vietnamese Minister of Labor has met with his Qatari counterpart in Hanoi to discuss the steps to implement this project,” said Vietnamese Ambassador Le Hong Phan on the sidelines of the embassy’s 67th Vietnamese National Day celebrations.
“The center will focus on the language and cultural issues related to the region and Qatar in specific. It aims at increasing the number of Vietnamese labor force in Qatar and GCC countries in general,” the Ambassador said.
He pointed out that Qatar had offered two scholarships for Vietnamese students, nominated by the Vietnamese Government, to study Arabic at Qatar University.
He said that Qatar-Vietnam relationships had grown considerably over the years and the scope of co-operation and the amount of investment had been on the rise.
“Still, the number of the Vietnamese labor force in Qatar is very modest that now amounts to about 500 persons. However, the number is increasing year after year.”
