Rice Exports Continue to Rise

In August, local traders exported 920,000 tonnes of rice valued at USD398 million, reported the Vietnam Food Association. Vietnam’s rice exports increased by 23 percent from July and by 18 percent compared to the same period last year.

 

In early September, local rice prices in the Mekong River Delta started rising from August. Prices of material rice type 1, for making five percent broken rice, were around VND7,400-7,500 per kilogramme, while material rice for 25 percent broken rice was priced at VND7,400 per kilogramme.
