The Australian Government through the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and the World Bank in Vietnam have been committed to continuing to support Vietnam’s education and training, through announcing Round 6 of their small grants for innovative learning ideas.

Over the last five years, the two agencies have helped Vietnam governmental agencies and social organisations to better utilise information and communications technologies, contributing to a more skilful, knowledgeable and better connected workforce.

With small grants of US$30,000 per initiative, the programme aims to provide Vietnamese capacity building projects with innovative learning methodology and access to national and international professional networks. In 2011 alone, approximately US$145,000 was awarded to five organisations in order to provide learning opportunities to 150 faculty managers, 140 teachers and 40 specialists and researchers.

In 2012, Round 6 will provide similar funding to Vietnamese organisations who have been striving for innovations in their teaching and learning activities and have sufficient capacity to implement their desired projects.
