Continuing the success of the annual golf series established in 2005 by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the 8th year of the VCCI Golf Challenge (VGC) tournament will tee off with the first round on Saturday, 06 October 2012 at Heron Lake Golf Course (Vinh Phuc) and the second round on Saturday, 01 December 2012 at King’s Island Golf (Hanoi).

With an aim of creating and enhancing business networking platforms among both local and international businesses on the occasion of celebrating Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day (October 13), the two rounds of this year’s tournament are expected to welcome more than 250 golfers, from officials of State organizations and authorities, foreign diplomats to representatives from international organizations in Vietnam, as well many business leaders.

Participating in the VGC 2012, golfers will be competing under the standard system of individual stroke, with the net scoring and handicap computed by System-36. Based on the computed handicaps, golfers will be divided into two main divisions A and B. There will also be a Callaway division for women and beginner golfers. The VGC 2012 will present a wide range of amazing prizes to main categories for the champions and runner-ups of each division, and technical categories. Prizes include a diamond worth VND200,000,000 and a 02-year membership at CityGolf Indoor Golf Center.

The VGC 2012 will also continue the tournaments’ tradition of supporting social needs. The Gala Dinners, which are organized at the end of each competition day, will feature a charity auction, with all proceeds going to the victims of the recent floods in Central provinces. In 2010, thanks to great donations of the sponsors of Tung Shing Group, Hanoi Hotel, Ho Guom Garment Corporation, and others, VGC presented clothes, stationary and rice worth more than VND300 million  to children in Dai Phong Primary School in Le Thuy district, Quang Binh Province, where was seriously damaged by flood.

This year’s VGC is supported by ANZ Bank (Par Sponsor), Attivo International and DB Schenker Vietnam (Supporting sponsors), Norfolk Clothing Company (official T-shirt sponsor), Diamond World and CityGolf (Hole-in-One sponsors) and many other in-kind sponsors.
