The Trade Union Executive Board of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) organised the Trade Union Congress for the third term, 2012 - 2015, at the VCCI head office at No. 9 Dao Duy Anh Street, Hanoi.
Delegates were trade unionists, Party members and VCCI officials. 110 participants represented 531 trade unionists from 22 units in Hanoi, Haiphong and Thanh Hoa branches.
The second term witnessed the expansion in both quantity and quality of unionists at the VCCI. They made positive contributions to the VCCI’s political tasks, and fulfilled all tasks assigned to the chamber by the State and the Party. In particular, structurally, the second term started with 13 trade union units. After the reshuffle for a higher trade union level, VCCI now has 22 trade union units. Quantitatively, the second tenure began with 468 unionists, including 269 female members, or 57.5 per cent of the total. Currently, there are 531 unionists, including 310 female members, or 58 per cent, an increase of 13.5 per cent.
Remarking achievements made by the VCCI Trade Union, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the Vietnam Official Trade Union presented emulation flags and certificates of merits to excellent collectives and individuals. Specially, the Prime Minister decorated the Certificate of Merits to the VCCI Trade Union for its achievements in the 2008 - 2010 period.
The congress passed the review report on tasks in the second term and orientations for the next term; arguments of delegates on results of implementing the congress’s second-term resolutions; orientations and tasks in the third term from 2012 to 2015; and amendments to the Charter of Vietnam Trade Union. The congress ratified the Resolution of the third Congress 2012-2015, and elected the 15-member Executive Committee. The Standing Committee consists of five members namely Hoang Quang Phong, Dao Hong Hung, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh, Dao Thi Bich Thuy and Nguyen Van Hai.
Mr Hoang Quang Hoang is elected as a chairperson, Mr Dao Hong Hung is elected as a vice chairperson cum head of inspection panel, and four members. The congress also elected two members (one man and one woman) to attend the fourth congress of the Vietnam Official Trade Union.
