“Making more out of wood: Innovations, Solutions, Efficiency” is the official motto for LIGNA 2013, the world’s premier trade fair for the forestry and wood industries. The motto offers a succinct description of what international visitors can expect to find in Hanover, Germany from 6 to 10 May 2013.
The world’s biggest trade fair LIGNA 2013- the number one “go to” event
Around 1,800 companies from 50 countries will be presenting their latest services and technologies at LIGNA. Their exhibits will reach some 90,000 trade visitors from more than 90 countries. “We can already safely say at this early stage that visitors to next year’s show can once again look forward to an unmatched range of state-of-the-art technology and innovations from around the world. All the market leaders in the fair’s individual product categories will be there, confirming LIGNA’s position as the number one “go to” event for industry decision makers seeking the best solutions for their specific needs,” said Dr Jochen Köckler, a member of the Deutsche Messe Board of Management.
The exhibitors at next year’s fair have achieved significant gains in their ongoing drive to boost the efficiency of their processing and manufacturing solutions. In fact, LIGNA 2013 will feature the greatest concentration of groundbreaking innovations and technological advances the industry has seen to date. And since all the leading suppliers have long synchronized their innovation cycles with the fair’s odd-numbered year cycle, visitors to next year’s show can expect to see the very latest state-of-the-art technology across the entire forest and wood value chain.
Furniture industry highlights at LIGNA 2013
LIGNA 2013 will feature innovative technologies and the latest trends and developments in plants and equipment for industrial furniture production by market-leading suppliers. The furniture industry displays will have a strong focus on surface finishing technology and lightweight design.
Next year’s show will mark the second time that Germany’s Lightweight Construction Association (igeL) and selected partners from industry and research will organize the “lightweight.network” special presentation, focusing on the efficient use and processing of materials and on lightweight solutions that give furniture added functionality.
If anything, the difficult worldwide economic situation is expected to bolster the importance of LIGNA 2013, especially for trade visitors from outside Germany. While the Federal Republic’s strong economic performance has enabled its local forest and wood industries to maintain healthy investment levels, in many other countries, critically important modernization measures have been postponed. This has compromised the competitiveness of the companies concerned, which have seen a rise in their export markets’ quality demands during the same period. It is for these companies in particular that LIGNA represents an excellent opportunity to regain their competitive edge through carefully targeted investment.
